Know you love your skid steers, but might as well give up using them, or your pickup, to drag delivery trucks up to your castle. Start with the caterpillar; It has the traction and power needed to do the job. I've seen you go from small, to medium, to even larger equipment to get the job done. Happy to see you get rid of the wood. Made no sense. I always try to sell my customers the concrete deck panels for large spans. especially in wet conditions. I agree with your use. Lots of opinions on steel coatings. Surface rust seems like a good way. I haven't a whole lot of experience with rust, except for one thing, it streaks. In time, you will have rusty streaks down the side of your castle.

If I ever played won the lottery I wouldn't buy a single expensive car or house. I would, however, buy a large plot of land and buy every tool ever made and enjoy my life building my own house/castle, fixing things, and just making things.

@Andrew Camarata Every time I see you water spray cutting in the winter I just know what a miserable job that can be. This whole roof project is great, welding in the winter is so much more comfortable as long as it’s not in a puddle.

It could have been, but it was in the way of putting the concrete plates in. I think, I know I had a reason for cutting that.

Aren't the cables in the prestressed concrete anchored on both ends (to supply the stress), and could the removal of the anchors, by cutting the cable, comprise the concrete beam?

Wow I sure like that drill. Is that called an Angular Drill or something like that? I want one, but that looks like it might be a little spendy. And that steel cut off blade for your big saw. I've been looking for that too. Lowe's has some of them. And one more thing. Damn I like your welds. They are flat but look like they are deep and penetrating. Probably a lot of practice. Do you generally use higher settings on your MIG welder. I have one too but my welds are thicker than I like. I do the one trick of chamfering the edges that touch before I weld, but I don't think I'm using the right settings.

We're using concrete chainsaws in our urban Search and Rescue Team to cut through reinforced concrete. They're not great for just cutting down like you would use a normal chainsaw. Best thing is to do a plunge cut an lever your way through. Depending on the type of chain you can cut really heavy rebar. You should increase the chain tension and play a bit with the water supply. To much water stops the chain from cutting and to little water makes it go dull in no time. But these chains still wear very quickly. A ringsaw does a much better Job. Also you can get 350 or 300mm Diamond wheels for your gas powered Cut off saw. That also works great.
Keep your great Videos up.

The weld at 11:26 has me nervous, It's a load bearing vertical weld. I'd cut another steel square and bolt them together so the the square takes the load, not the bolts, if the weld breaks.
Andrew Camarata
Andrew Camarata - 8 måneder siden
I am going to put some columns under that I beam, its for spreading the load on the concrete floor below. but that weld wont break.

Hi Mr. Camarata. Don't you think that welding only is not enough to attach those heavy beams to each other, in order to make the lower ones capable of holding the upper ones securely! So I would think that using screws could be a good idea here for more support. Don't you think so?

Amazing should consider using lightweight concrete for future slabs above containers. We use recycled polystyrene concrete which is a great floor as well as insulating the structure.
