your drill speed might actually be too slow for the thickness and hardness of the metal you are drilling. Get a speed chart, it will save you time and bits. Use a cutting oil too.

Love your videos, but I cant help but wonder if you are gonna break something else at your mounting points for the when the guard takes a hit like you've taken before. That would more than likely cost more than 210 bucks. It's good you're thinking prevention, but would rethink where you mount this.

Funny, let me explain to you at a lower understandable level, you're drilling too fast means don't push so hard, and pull out often to clear chips. Especially with a toy drill.

that bolt holding the long piece will end up loosening over time. My solution is to clamp a bash plate to the axle which rides independant of the swing.

Dude, you seriously have to start buffing the paint and rust off of the shit you weld. It’s making me cringe how you LITERALY never do this. Why half ass fix things with weak/porosity filled welds which will break eventually then take a little extra time and fix it properly for good. I watch you struggle with everything you do, I can’t help that, but you can help yourself by welding things properly

I don't understand why People still buy Tractors. Skid steers / Wheel Loaders come in all sizes and can do all the jobs a Tractor can. I guess the only argument for it i see is when you need to travel longer distances and do large skale fields.

I think you did a excellent job on making that guard didn't like your first choice on the axle, was happy to see you thought of another idea. You have awesome ideas when you are fabricating, a couple things I would just like to mention cast iron can be welded very good by the right welter.

And it takes a professional welder to do this task, but myself I much like you
I am a backyard welder and I can weld Meg and arc not too good with Tig .

But there is something I want to mention to you not only you I have seen many many
people make this mistake they do not unhitched the battery when they are welding
you do shorten the life of the battery because you are so sending a positive
power right through the battery from the ground.

Just wanted to mention that body I really appreciate all your videos you are
very gifted man and I watching all your videos and I love them thank you,
so much for all of your education that you have gave me.

That Guard you made look totally hokey if you would’ve welded a hoop on the ram and then used a piece of round tube cut in half and then put a tab on it where the bullet was on the we are side I think it was set up a little higher it looked a lot cleaner but kudos to you for trying that’s what count

Is there going to be some rapid wear on the fixing bolt at the ram end as it rotates around it each time you turn from lock to lock ? Maybe need some kind of a ball joint at this point ?.
kctyphoon - 6 måneder siden
Why not just go from axle hub (the two bolt holes you used) to the same bolts on the opposite axle hub - and make one big steel bar under the axle? Cut flat brackets to bolt on both sides, that drop down and inch or two. Then connect them with a steel tube, or pipe. Off the tube - fab up a crash bar to protect the cylinder, or even create a big skid plate that protects everything in the front end. No moving parts that way.. much more secure. - protect everything = axle, lines, cylinder... yea - you loose a little ground clearance - but not much... plus anything that hits it, is really too close to hitting important stuff anyway. just an idea..

I don’t believe it! You sent that out to be rebuilt! The hydraulic cylinder is only a piston with a few “O” rings. I know with your skills you could have rebuilt it. Easy! The welds on the snow mobile shaft were way more complicated to do! Next time those cylinders Are nothing.
